Hi! My name is Fatemeh Hashemi. First, I would like to thank you for visiting our website to learn more about the C.O.O.L Mentoring Program. My first encounter with mentorship programs was as an adult. When I learned more about “What a mentor is”. My first thought was “Wow! I wish I had a mentor when I was growing up!”. Personally, and professionally, I saw the need and importance for Middle Eastern youth in having a positive role model in their lives. Most importantly, for them to know they are an important and inclusive part of society and to embrace their own unique identity. The need in our community is what lead to discovering the NMRC. Through this, I had the honor of meeting and working with Jerry, who has been an amazing source of support and guidance throughout the entire program development and program implementation. I’ve also had the privilege of collaborating with an amazing group of passionate, dedicated, and caring individuals who believe in the importance of building a supportive community for our youth.
A special “Thank you” to the NMRC, Jerry Sherk, and the C.O.O.L Advisory Team for all of your hard work and dedication to making a better future for our youth. Without your support, the C.O.O.L Mentoring Program wouldn’t exist.
